Uncle Tony-The St. Anton of Today

The toughest, strongest, tallest guy I know.
But an angelic heart deep in you sewn.
Cheers, jokes, pranks, and laughter only found
Whenever you were running around.

A car accident gave us a great scare,
But you pulled through- an answer to prayer.
The money you got,
You shared a whole lot:
Family trips to build a crucial memory-
Bonding that will last through the century.

That smile and laugh, how could I know it was the last?
I miss the hugs, and being spun- all that now is past.
I miss seeing you prank and mess with Mom.
Nothing, nothing, could ever for this pain qualm.

Everyone together, the always desire of you,
It hurts, and I’m sorry: your cost is how it came true.
You truly knew what gives meaning to life.
Some never can solve this internal strife.

I do not care how much schooling you had,
To me, you are better than a Harvard grad.
Like St. Anton cared for the Lord’s living creatures,
You gave your all to others, your best feature.

As some look to St. Anton to protect their pets,
I pray others seek you, for lessons not to forget.
Thank you Uncle Tony for loving and teaching me.
I pray and I pray, one day, you again I’ll see.
